Tri-State's Packing Tips
Here are some helpful tips and hints to make your packing and subsequently your move easier and hopefully less stressful.
First and foremost use common sense. Keep in mind the size, sturdiness and weight of your items and the containers in which they will be packed. Start by packing one room at a time. Labeling each box appropriately with a description of its contents and which room they belong. Make sure cartons are firmly packed with heavier items on bottom and lighter ones on top. Empty all drawers of breakable or spillable items. Wrap all pieces of china and glassware individually. Using several sheets of clean paper, start from the corner wrapping diagonally and continuously tucking in overlapping edges. Label cartons with room, contents and "Fragile". Arrange your china plates on their side in the carton, not flat, and place a generous amount of wrapping paper around to cushion the contents. Pack lamps and their shades seperately. Clothing can be left in their dresser drawers. Your moving professional will supply wardrobe cartons to transport your clothing that are stored on hangers.
Put heavy items in small boxes so they are easier to carry. Pack lighter items in larger boxes.

Quick Tip
There are some items that may require your moving professional to pack for you. Those items may be mirrors, framed art, marble or glass table tops, chandeliers, and statues. Ask your moving sales representative for a quote.
Packing Tips
Never pack flammable goods such as propane tanks, aerosol cans, oil based paints and certain cleaning fluids. In most cases a carrier cannot transport those items.
